Atherton Y Service Club did a project together with Atherton Y’s College Camp, hosted by Protect and Preserve Hawaii. The College Camp students learned about plants and connected with the ‘aina (land) by removing invasive Guinea grass and planting four different types of native Hawaiian species.

Atherton Y’s College Camp is a week-long leadership and college access experience for Hawaii`s high school students from underserved communities. Protect and Preserve Hawaii is a non-profit started by one man who purchased 330 acres of conservation land.
